Gilder Lehrman Center Receives Robina Grant

August 26, 2016

The Gilder Lehrman Center is honored to announce the January 2016 award of a major grant from the Robina Foundation. Based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Robina Foundation seeks to positively impact critical social issues by encouraging innovation and financially supporting transformative projects for its four institutional partners, including Yale University. The four-year award, totaling $1.4 million, supports the Center’s work in four general areas:

  • Modern-Day Slavery and Human Trafficking
  • Public History Institutes
  • New Media Initiatives
  • Teacher Outreach, including fostering international relationships between teachers and students in South Africa, Rwanda, and the United States.

We look forward to a great and productive partnership with the Robina Foundation (Executive Director, Penny Hunt) and its board. We are thrilled that Robina has put trust in us and has engaged with the many  missions of the GLC in creating and disseminating worldwide the very best knowledge about slavery and its abolition.
