I enclose you a Certificate to the age of a negro girl Zeb sold to Ruben Fowler of Rumbout Dutchess County and a promise by Mr. Fowler to manumit her when she may attain the age of 25 years, which your society will please to retain that she may not lose her liberty.

This may Certify that the wench Named Zeb that I had of David Barkins was five years old & that shie is to be free in twenty years from the Date which will be in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Sixteen.  Dated twentieth and ninth day of april one thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Six.
